Set Asset Tree Item to Active or Inactive
Objective
Activate or deactivate an item in the asset tree and:
- its linked detail records, and
- its child items and linked detail records, if required.
Active and inactive status options
These active and inactive status options are available in the asset tree:

Apply to Children | Set the Is Active status of the selected record's child items to active or inactive. |
How to change the status of an item in the asset tree
- From the On Key main menu, click Asset and Maintenance Plan Configuration > Assets > Asset Tree. The Asset Tree dashboard opens.
- Open the item's edit screen.
- To set an item to active:
- Click Set Active in the Assist panel in the sidebar. The Set Active screen opens.
- Tick Apply to Children, if required.
- Click Accept.
- To set an item to inactive:
- Click Set Inactive in the Assist panel in the sidebar. The Set Inactive screen opens.
- Tick Apply to Children, if required.
- Click Accept.
As a result
- For items set to active, if the development status is
NAC
,C
,MAC
orDAC
then:- The selected record and its linked detail records are activated, ie the Is Active checkbox is ticked.
- Each child item and its linked detail records are activated if Apply to Children is ticked.
- For items set to inactive, if the development status is
NAC
,MAC
orC
then:- The selected record and its linked detail records are deactivated, ie the Is Active checkbox is cleared.
- Each child item and its linked detail records are deactivated if Apply to Children is ticked.
- The item displays in italic grey text in the tree.
Keep in mind
- An item's inactive status cannot be changed to active if its development status is
DC
. - An item's active status cannot be change to inactive if its development status is
DAC
