Set and Link Placeholder Asset Components

Objective

Linking a placeholder asset component enables you to select the specific asset type that you want to use to "fill" an "empty" placeholder slot.

The placeholder asset component must first be set as a placeholder before it can be linked to an asset type.

How to set and link a placeholder asset component

1. Open the placeholder asset component's edit screen.
2. Click Assist in the sidebar and select Set Placeholder from the list of actions. The Regular Asset Types screen opens.
3. Select a regular asset type from the grid and click Accept.
4. With the edit screen still open, click Set Linked Asset Type in the Assist sidebar. The Regular Asset Types screen opens.
5. Select a regular asset type from the grid and click Accept.
6. Save the record.

As a result

A placeholder asset component - linked is added to the asset or regular asset component in the asset tree.
