Change the Site on a Regular Asset

Objective

Change Site on a Regular Asset is a custom action that changes the site field value.

How to change the site on a regular asset

1. From the On Key home page Main Menu, click Asset and Maintenance Plan Configuration > Assets > Asset Tree. The Asset Tree dashboard opens.
2. Double-click on the regular asset, then use Change Site custom action in the Assist panel in the sidebar.
3. Select the desired site from the Lookup Site screen.
4. Click Accept.

As a result

The site on the regular asset is changed.

Rules

The following rules apply to changing sites:

• Entities below the asset, which include other assets and components inherit the top-level asset’s site.
• Regular asset components, placeholder assets, placeholder asset components and in-place assets inherit the regular asset site.
• Maintainable assets must belong to a non-virtual site.

Keep in mind

All historic work orders linked to the asset will retain the old site value. Only new work orders will have the new site field.
