How to accept development of an item in an asset type model

  1. Access the Accept Development dialog in the asset type tree. This can be done via either of these methods:
    • Right-click the item in the tree structure and click Development Status > Accept.
    • Select the item in the tree structure and use the Accept Development custom action in the Assist panel in the sidebar.
    • Open the item's edit screen and use the Accept Development custom action in the Assist panel in the sidebar.
  2. Tick Apply to Children, if required.
  3. Tick Apply to Descendants (And Descendants Via Linked Objects), if required.
  4. Click Accept.

As a result

  • If the selected record's development status is NUD or NAC or MUD or MAC then:
    • Development changes for the selected record are accepted.
    • Development changes for the selected record's child items are accepted if Apply to Children is ticked.
    • Development changes for the selected record's corresponding item in the asset type models for descendant sub asset types, placeholder asset types - linked and placeholder asset type components - linked are accepted if Apply to Descendants (And Descendants Via Linked Objects) is ticked.
    • Development status changes to Confirmed for each item that has been accepted.
  • Inherited items in the asset tree that are out of sync with the modified asset type item are displayed in red text in the asset tree and a warning symbol appears.
  • If the selected record is not an asset type and its development status is DAC then:
    • The selected record is deleted.
    • The corresponding items in each asset type model for descendant sub asset types, placeholder asset types - linked and placeholder asset type components - linked are accepted if Apply to Descendants (And Descendants Via Linked Objects) is ticked.
    • Each item's development status changes to Deleted - Confirmed.

Keep in mind

  • An asset type's development can only be accepted in the asset type tree.
  • Development of a child item cannot be accepted if the development status of its parent item is not Confirmed.
  • Development changes for descendant items and child items are only accepted if the appropriate options are selected in the Accept Development dialog.
  • A user must have the appropriate permissions to accept an item's development in the asset type tree.
  • Beware of accepting development at all levels in an asset type model if individual inherited items have been customised or modified.
