Reject Development in the Asset Tree
Objective
Reject development changes for an item in an asset model.
Reject development options
These reject development options are available in the asset tree:

Apply to Children | Reject development changes for each child item and its linked detail records.
This is optional and not applicable to a standard task or a task and its linked detail records. |
How to reject development of an item in an asset model
- Access the Reject Development dialog in the asset tree. This can be done via either of these methods:
- Right-click the item in the tree structure and click Development Status > Reject.
- Select the item in the tree structure and use the Reject Development custom action in the Assist panel in the sidebar.
- Open the item's edit screen and use the Reject Development custom action in the Assist panel in the sidebar.
- Tick Apply to Children to reject development of the selected item and all its child items (and all their linked detail records) in the same asset model.
- Click Accept.
As a result
- If the selected record's development status is
NAC
then:- Changes for the selected record and its linked detail records are rejected.
- Changes for each child item and its linked detail records are rejected if Apply to Children is ticked.
- Each item is inactive.
- If the selected record's development status is
MAC
then:- Changes for the selected record and its linked detail records are rejected.
- Changes for each child item and its linked detail records are rejected if Apply to Children is ticked.
- Each item's development status is
Confirmed
.
- If the selected record's development status is
DAC
then:- Changes for the selected record and its linked detail records are rejected. The last confirmed values for the selected record and its linked detail records are reinstated/restored.
- Changes for each child item and its linked detail records are rejected if Apply to Children is ticked. The last confirmed values for each child item and its linked detail records are reinstated/restored.
- Each item's development status is
Confirmed
.
Keep in mind
- An asset's development can only be rejected in the asset tree.
- Development of a sub item can only be rejected if the development status of its originating or parent item is
Confirmed
. - An item with development status
Deleted - Confirmed
is not displayed and cannot be edited in the asset tree. - A user must have the appropriate permissions to reject an item's development in the asset tree.
- An asset for which development is being rejected is locked and cannot be used by another user.
