File Attachments
The purpose of the file attachment functionality is to attach a specific file to a specific record in On Key. Permissions are required in order to attach a file to an entity and the file attachments has a permission tree that is defaulted from the record to which it is attached.
File attachment functionality is available on the following entities:
- Regular assets
- Regular asset tasks
- Requisitions
- Requisition items
- Resources
- Stock items
- Suppliers
- Work orders
- Work order tasks
- Work order task spares
- Work requests
Keep in mind
File attachment differs from document linking. With document linking, a document is added to a document library and can be linked to one or many entities. Documents linked to parent entities can be inherited to child entities. Refer to Document Linking for more information.
The file attachment tab is available on the edit screen of the entity. Here you are able to upload or download files. The list of all the entity's file attachments is available in the entity file attachments dashboards for example, Work Order File Attachments.
File types and maximum file sizes are configured within the admin portal.
