Perform Match Updates

Objective

Make changes to multiple records simultaneously.

How to perform a match update

  1. Navigate to the dashboard where a match update is required.
  2. Select one or more records in the grid, then click Assist > Match Update in the sidebar. The Match Update screen for the entity opens, listing all the fields that you can update.
  3. Select the field(s) you want to update and click Continue.
  4. Add the value(s) that you want the field(s) to update to, or alternatively, leave them empty to have them cleared.
  5. Specify if this should be Run as Background Task and click Save.

As a result

A notification message displays, indicating the number of successful updates and the number of failed updates. From here, you can click More Info to locate the specific record for which the update passed or failed.

Keep in mind

  • Match update can be performed on one or more records, and on one or more fields on those records.
  • Match update will only apply to the selected records.
  • Fields on multiple records can be cleared by leaving the fields empty on the Match Update screen.
  • When a field is a required field, this will also be illustrated as such on the Match Update screen.
  • Match update is also available on certain recursive dashboards. In some cases, you have to select the record in the grid first for the Match Update option to display in the Assist panel in the sidebar.
  • The match update functionality will adhere to the rules and validations for the entity.
  • A user needs the appropriate permissions per entity to perform a match update. However, for recursive dashboards, a user makes use of the same permissions that apply to the normal dashboards.
  • A validation error message is displayed for selected records to which the specified match updates do not apply.
