Link Profiles to Operational Roles via Operational Role Dashboard

Objective

Link private or public profiles to operational roles via the operational role dashboard. This determines what profiles users will default to, what profiles they can use and what they can see in On Key.

Before you start

Configure the customised profiles that will be linked to the operational role.

How to link profiles to an operational role

  1. From the On Key main menu, click User Access Management > Operational Roles. The Operational Role dashboard opens.
  2. Open the operational role's edit screen.
  3. Click the Profiles tab, then click in the toolbar. The Create Operational Role Template screen opens.
  4. Populate the required fields in the Header section.
  5. Add information in the Notes section, if applicable.
  6. Save the record.

The icon enables you to link multiple profiles. Use Link Profile Template to link the built-in profiles and Link Profile Template Customisation to link custom profiles.

As a result

The data resources associated with the profile are automatically added on the Data Resources tab.

Please note, You can use a private profile that another user has created, but you cannot edit or delete another user's private profile unless the correct permissions are set up.

Keep in mind

  • A custom profile is linked from the Customisation Name field and a system profile is linked from the Profile field.
  • When a profile is deleted from an operational role, the related data resources will also be deleted.
  • When an operational role is assigned to a user, the associated profiles and data resources will also be available on the user.
