Create Work Order From Work Request
Objective
Create a work order from one or more work requests.
Before you start
In order to create a work order from a work request, the following rules apply:
- The status of the work request cannot be "Awaiting Approval".
- The base status of the work request must be "Approved".
- There must be at least one work request ID.
- Duplicate work request IDs are not allowed.
- You cannot create a work order on a work request that already has a work order linked to it.
Information required for work order creation
- The following fields are required for work order creation. If these are not specified at the point of work order creation, the default User Options values will be used. If default User Options values have not been specified, the user will be prompted to provide the missing information in order to create the work order.
- Type of Work
- Responsible Section
- Responsible Trade
- Responsible Staff Member
- If multiple work requests for different assets have been selected, the user will be prompted to select a single Asset Code against which to create the work order.
How to create a work order from a work request
- From the On Key main menu, click Work Management > Work Requests > Work Requests. The Work Requests dashboard opens.
- Select one or more work requests to a create work order from, then click Assist > Create Work Order in the sidebar. The Create Work Orders screen opens.
- Populate the fields with the required information.
- Click Accept.
As a result
A work order for the selected work request(s) is created. Each work order created is assigned a unique code, which is displayed in the Work Order Code column on the grid.
