Asset Importances

An asset's importance value identifies how important it is to repair the asset if it breaks down. An importance is assigned to assets so that work orders for assets can be prioritised in terms of how urgent the work is.

Set up the master data for asset importances before configuring asset types and assets. This ensures that asset importance values are available for selection from a lookup list when asset types and assets are configured.

Guidelines

Develop an importance structure to define the levels of urgency. These are possible importance structures and values:

  • A 1 to 10 scale of urgency, where 1 is most urgent.
  • Low, Medium, High, Very High or Critical.
  • 1D for an importance of less than 1 day (ASAP), 3D for importance of less than 3 days, and so on.
