User Defined Fields
User defined fields are generic data entry fields for a specified database table. These fields are configured and used for capturing specific information required to support the custom business processes in the client's environment.
User defined fields are predefined per entity. Only the Name and Description values can be edited. The user defined fields on an entity are derived from what has been configured for the associated table in the master data. So, if user defined fields are specified for the asset table in the master data, then the preconfigured fields will automatically display on the User Defined Fields tab of a regular asset record. The preconfigured user defined fields can also be added to the tabs within the create and edit screens for the entity on which these fields have been configured.
