Section Trades

Trades can be linked to sections. A specific trade can be linked to more than one section; for example a fitter could be part of the mechanical workshop and the production area, but not part of the electrical workshop. It could also happen that the electrical workshop section requires a fitter trade to do a job, even though the fitter is not linked to the electrical workshop.

When selecting a trade to perform a job, the user is presented with two lookup options:

• Trades: All available trades without links to specific sections; or
• Section trades: The trades that are linked to the selected section.

The default lookup (trades or section trades) is specified in system options, but users can switch to the alternative lookup list when selecting a trade.
