Contractor Management

The Contractor Management module enables dynamic and intelligent contractor selection based on contextual data from work orders. Supplier configuration such as location, section, competencies, rate and service compatibility is used as input and enables filtering of appropriate suppliers during work order planning. This module acts as the foundational layer for managing contractor hierarchies, services offered and rate structures; and supports service-to-work order linkage.

Contractor houses are preconfigured via the supplier entity; and each contractor house is linked to a section. Within these sections the relevant section resources and section competencies are defined.

Suppliers are associated with supplier services, supplier rates and regions with site-specific supplier rates and site-specific supplier preferences.

The above-mentioned configuration enables a smart supplier lookup functionality on work orders. Based on the required service, eligible contractors are retrieved by filtering the lookup for supplier services by:

  • the supplier (on the work order header);
  • if the supplier is not specified on the work order header, the global list of services is filtered by the supplier for a requested service;
  • the returned list of services is filtered by the supplier based on the supplier preference for the requested service.

Contractor management workflow:

  1. A contractor is registered and configured as a supplier. Refer to Suppliers for more information.
  2. The services offered by the supplier are defined. A supplier can offer many services. Refer to Services for more information.
  3. Default supplier rates are configured per service and/or per site. Each supplier service can have many rates. Refer to Supplier Rates for more information. Rates may be overridden per site using site-specific pricing via a site supplier rate relationship. Refer to Sites for more information.
  4. Work orders are raised and the relevant supplier, service and supplier rate is applied.
  5. The relevant costs are captured once work order completion is recorded.
