Wyn Reporting

On Key uses a browser-based report designer called Wyn Enterprise. Wyn provides an integrated reporting functionality that enables users to generate print-ready, formatted reports from live or near-live On Key data.

Some examples of reports you can create via Wyn include:

  • printable work orders,
  • reports accompanying notification emails,
  • weekly reports,
  • spare part lists,
  • purchase orders,
  • requisitions, and
  • advanced SQL queries against preconfigured data sources in a multi-tenant environment.

An On Key user must be set up as a report user to have access to this reporting functionality.

Configure Reporting on a User

The process for setting up reporting on a user is as follows:

  1. Configure a user to be a report user by enabling the Is Report User setting on the user's user options.
  2. Allocate Report User Roles to the user, to determine what the user can and cannot do in Wyn. These roles must already exist in Wyn.
  3. Save the record. This will create the user in Wyn and return the Report User ID and Report User Name on the user in On Key.
  4. Optional: Configure the language, and how the date and number formats are displayed on Wyn's user interface and in the actual report, using the Report Server UI Language and Report Server Report Language settings.

These settings are available in the user options Reports section.

Access Wyn Reports

To launch to Wyn's reports portal from On Key, click Business Intelligence > Reports.

The report user will launch directly into Wyn reporting from On Key. As the user has already been authenticated, there is no need to log into the report sever.

To launch to a specific report from On Key, do the following:

  1. Navigate to the Work Order dashboard.
  2. Select the applicable records in the grid, then use the Select Report custom action in the Assist panel in the sidebar. The Report screen opens.
  3. Look up a report in the Title field. The Reports screen opens, displaying reports that are available in Wyn reports. These reports are narrowed down by the Report User Roles that are associated with the user.
  4. Select the report and click Accept > Accept. The report containing the selected records will launch in Wyn.

This method launches Wyn with the report already open to be previewed. From here, you could print the report, for instance.

Keep in mind

  • Report launching needs to be enabled by adding the specific entity type as a report entity under system options (refer to Add Report Server Entities). Categories can be defined to limit the reports that are returned.
  • In order to launch Wyn's reports portal from On Key, the user needs to be a report user. Is Report User needs to be enabled on the user (refer to the User Screen).
