Generate Proposed Work Orders
Objective
Generate a list of proposed work orders for asset tasks that are due to be executed within a specified time period and meet the specified filter, split and combination options.
Before you start
- Configure the Last Scheduled Date and Last Done Date for each asset task.
- Configure task roll up points, is applicable. Refer to Add Task Roll-Up Points for more information.
- Configure meters that are attached to the asset, if applicable. Refer to Add Meters for more information.
- Configure monitoring point details for the asset, if applicable. Refer to Add Monitoring Points for more information.
How to generate proposed work orders for scheduled tasks
- From the On Key main menu, click Work Management > Proposed Work Orders > Proposed Work Orders. The Proposed Work Order dashboard opens.
- In the sidebar, click Assist > Generate Proposed Work Orders. The Generate Proposed Work Orders screen opens.
- Configure the settings on the Filters tab.
- Configure the settings on the Split Options tab.
- Configure the settings on the Combination Options tab.
- Click Accept to generate the proposed work orders. This could take a few minutes to complete.
Keep in mind
- Proposed work orders can be generated as often as required without creating work orders because a task's Last Scheduled Date is only updated when a proposed work order is converted to a work order.
- Proposed work orders can only be generated for assets that:
- are at a non-virtual site
- have the Is Maintenance Significant Item option enabled
- are in the
Confirmed
orModified - Awaiting Confirmation
status.
- Filters:
- The Filter lookups do not filter based on previous selections.
- Do not filter Location based on the selected Site, as locations can be in different sites.
- If a selection has been made to filter by Site and not Location, the generated proposed work orders will be for the specified site.
- If selections are made to filter by both Site and Location, the generated proposed work orders will be for the specified site and location.
- Use the splitting options to split tasks on a proposed work order.
- Combination options:
- If Grouping Interval (Days) and Days To Schedule On are not zero, then the tasks that should be performed during the scheduling period are grouped on a work order for the applicable Grouping Interval, as long as they satisfy the standard filter, split and combination options.
- If Grouping Interval (Days) is zero, then the tasks that should be performed during the scheduling period are generated for their Estimated Next Due Date, as long as they satisfy the standard filter, split and combination options.
- Proposed work orders can be generated against the nearest asset (irrespective if it is a regular-, in-place- or placeholder asset) or specifically the nearest regular asset. Keep in mind that if any task roll up points have been configured against an asset, the roll up points will be honoured first before applying this setting. For example, if a task roll up point is linked to an in-place asset and Nearest Regular Asset is selected to generate proposed work orders against, the tasks will be grouped against the in-place asset with the roll up point.
- Proposed work orders do not have a work order code. Once the work order has been generated, a unique code that identifies the work order is assigned by the system.
- The proposed work order's description includes the following:
- number of tasks proposed, number of tasks created, and number of tasks suppressed
- default task interval
- task descriptions.
